Bladt Industries has won a contract by Vattenfall to supply transition pieces for the twin Danish nearshore wind projects Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord, which combined have a capacity of 350MW.

The Danish company will fabricate the 41 TPs at its facilities in Aalborg, Denmark.

“We are excited to be supplying TP’s for a Danish windfarm and super proud to, again be working with one of Europe's largest energy companies and experienced offshore developers” said Anders Søe-Jensen, chief executive of Bladt Industries.

“Vattenfall is just like Bladt interested in taking a social responsibility and this project will ensure an education platform for a number of our apprentices that will participate in the manufacturing of the transition pieces.”

The Vesterhav Syd array will have a capacity of 180MW, and Vesterhav Nord of 170MW.

The offshore wind farms will both be located 10 kilometres off the West coast of the Jutland peninsula near Thyborøn (Nord) and Søndervig (Syd) in water depths of approximately 20 meters.

The wind farms will produce enough electricity to supply 350,000 Danish homes in total.
